BARBRA ANN HARDY, a former public school teacher and music educator, serves as Associate Pastor of Christian Education, First Congregational Church, Washington, D.C. She volunteers at the Center for Prayer and Pilgrimage at the Washington National Cathedral, Washington, D.C. She lives with her husband, Navy Chaplain Bill Middleton, in Alexandria, Virginia. They have a blended family, which includes six children, two dogs, and five feral cats.
