David Taylor

David Taylor

Born in 1938, ten years later David Taylor entered the choir of Durham Cathedral, and began a life-long exploration of how the Bible was to be understood. After National Service he went up to Oxford to read theology, where he found that because he already had a very good knowledge of the Bible, he had great difficulty in adapting to the academic view of it - about which he still has reservations. He was a lay-clerk at Winchester Cathedral from 1963 to 1965, and at Christ Church, Oxford, from 1967 to 1981, where his 'day time' job was working in the publishing house of Blackwell's. His main publications are (Constable, 1967), (SCM Press, 1992), and (Melrose Books, 2007).
