Martin Tunnicliffe

Martin Tunnicliffe was ordained in the Church of England in 1960 and served as a parish priest in the diocese of Birmingham for 38 years. He joined The Fellowship of Contemplative Prayer (FCP)in 1967 and served the FCP as General Secretary and Chaplain over many years. He has written the official biography of R.G.Coulson, founder of the FCP, and "Exploring Contemplative Prayer" with co-author Peter Dodson, as well as numerous articles on contemplative prayer. He now lives in retirement in the West Midlands. His other books include "Ministry Matters: a hundred years of ordained ministry in the Church of England" (pub. 2010) in which he compares his father's ministry from 1910 to 1960 with his own: and "The Last of the Bluebells" (pub. 2011), a light-hearted anthology of sketches and essays on various odd topics. Hobbies: reading, sketching and playing classical and jazz music on the piano.
