Suzanne M. Coyle

Suzanne M. Coyle is Associate Professor of Pastoral Theology and Marriage and Family Therapy at Christian Theological Seminary in Indianapolis. She is also the Executive Director of the Counseling Center as well as Program Director of the Master of Arts in Marriage and Famiy Therapy. The MAMFT degree is nationally accredited by the Commission on Accreditation for Marriage and Family Therapy Education. Coyle holds a M.Div. and Ph.D. in Pastoral Theology and Communication from Princeton Theological Seminary. Coyle holds a Post Graduate Diploma in Narrative Therapy and Community Work from the Dulwich Centre in Adelaide, Australia. Her counseling credentials include being a licensed marriage and family therapy, a Diplomate in American Association of Pastoral Counseling, and a Clinical Member and Approved Supervisor in American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy.
Dr. Coyle has served as a pastor in Baptist congregations in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and Indiana for years. She leads workshops in congregations on marriage and family topics and church systems. In addition, she has presented nationally at Society for Biblical Literature, American Association of Pastoral Counselors, American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy, and Society for Pastoral Theology. Coyle has presented internationally at the International Association for Marriage and Family Therapy World Congress and at the Dulwich Centre in Adelaide, Australia. A grant from Appalachian Ministries Educational Resource Center enabled Coyle to teach a cultural immersion course in eastern Kentucky entitled "Mountain Stories: Re-storying Spiritual Narratives." The experience and research during that course informs the writing of "Re-storying Your Faith."
